{Wild} Baked Apples

It’s all about apples this week on the blog, and today we’re going to be making some Wild Baked Apples. Of course, you’re welcome to use whatever apples you have- but since the apples used in this recipe are on the smaller side, you may have to adjust the ingredients accordingly.
{Grab the kids for this one- my 2, 3, and 6 year-olds all pitched in and had a blast!}

Wild Baked Apples
What You Will Need:
-Approx. 5 wild apples, cut in half (or 4 large standard apples)
-butter
-brown sugar
-cinnamon
-nutmeg
-lemon juice
-1 cup apple juice
Step 1:
Remove the centers of your apple halves with a melon baller (spoon or knife works fine too). Place cut-side up in a 13″x9″ pan and squeeze a drop of lemon juice into the middles of each apple.
Step 2:
Add 1 teaspoon butter per apple half. {My melon baller was still handy, so that is what we used.}
Step 3:
Add 1 teaspoon of brown sugar per apple half.
Step 4:
Sprinkle on some cinnamon and nutmeg.
Step 5:
Pour the 1 cup of apple juice into the pan, around the apples. {I used homemade unsweetened apple juice- but whatever you have on hand works just fine.}
Step 6:

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve warm with juices from pan drizzled over top.
How do you like your apples?
