Welcome to Yellow Birch Hobby Farm!

Hello and welcome to my brand new blog! I’m very excited to be starting this NEW venture. I have many plans for this blog, so please be patient as it’s a work in progress. I look forward to meeting and sharing with other like-minded individuals as I continue to grow and learn about self-sustainable living in today’s world.
A little about myself and my family:
My husband, myself, and our 3 children live on 8 1/2 acres in Northeastern Minnesota. We’re right in the middle of the woods, which is where I’ve always loved to be most. My family enjoys all that the beautiful outdoors has to offer: hunting, fishing, daily rides on the 4-wheeler, berry picking/foraging, gardening, swimming, raising our variety of animals/breeds, and trying to maintain a quiet lifestyle.
Through this blog, I’m hoping to share my own experiences, offer tips where I can, and direct you to interesting and informative ideas throughout the web. I’m constantly reading and learning with the goal of edging my family away from relying on the expendable products available at our fingertips and toward supplying at least the larger portion of our needs through our own efforts. We’re not there yet, but with buying our current home this past spring, I understand that it will take time.
Thank-you for taking a moment to visit! I look forward to meeting and sharing with you all…
