Welcome to another week in photos!
Here is our week of November 3rd, 2013:
{Rifle} Deer Season opened this weekend. And we saw a nice amount of snow to open up the first day. I’ve been bow hunting these past two months {unsuccessfully}, which has really taken its toll on my back. So I for once didn’t fight my husband on who got to go out opening morning! Nothing as of yet, but we remain hopeful, especially with the rut underway.

I’m incredibly thankful that, despite the cold temperatures, I’ve managed to continue to use the hose to fill up the duck pools. They sure do love their morning bath! I’m not looking forward to when they will have to bathe out of a bucket.
“Freeloader”, our Rhode Island Red hen. On a particularly cool morning, I found her cozied up next to this box which once held saplings from this spring. I thought she looked a little perturbed by the irony.
“Bones”, one of our Easter Egger hens, soaking up the morning sun.
I shared this one on Facebook and just had to show it here. As I was going through my photos, I particularly enjoyed this one. It’s easy to miss the Saxony female in the photo when our Cayuga drake is so commanding!
